Iran Press/Iran news: "Despite some claims about Iran's nuclear program and humanitarian aid to Yemen from some countries in the Persian Gulf, we welcome the improvement in relations," Ali Rabiei said on the sidelines of the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
Answering Iran Press reporter's question that UAE has reportedly released hundreds of millions of dollars of frozen Iranian assets, Rabiei said that he doesn't know about releasing Iranian frozen money by the United Arab Emirate but Iran welcomes improving relations with the Persian Gulf littoral states.
Recently, it has been said that the UAE has released $17 million of Iran's blocked money, Rabiee said adding, " I have nothing to say about the $ 17 million, but relations with the countries of the region are improving anyway, and you have recently seen the Saudi government seeks to improve relations with Iran."
Earlier on Monday, the spokesman for the foreign ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Mousavi, confirmed “new developments” in the relations between the Islamic Republic and the United Arab Emirates, but said he is unaware of the release of Iran’s $700 million frozen funds by the UAE.
An Iranian lawmaker announced on Sunday that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has released $700 million of Tehran’s frozen assets,
