Medina (IP) - The representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution for Hajj affairs met the Head of the Iraqi High Commission for Hajj and Umrah and voiced Iran’s willingness to expand cooperation and sign a collaborating agreement with Iraq on Hajj.

Iran Press/ Middle East: The representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution for Hajj affairs, Seyyed Abolhassan Navvab had a meeting with the Head of the Iraqi High Commission for Hajj and Umrah Khaled Al-Attiyah on Wednesday in Medina, Saudi Arabia, saying, “While the enemies of Iran and Iraq are looking for a chance to draw distance between the two nations, the relations between Tehran-Baghdad is being developed with the vigilance of the authorities and the peoples of the two countries.

Navvab described the removal of visas between the two countries as a step forward in expanding the relationships and bilateral ties, Iran Press reported.

“The message of Hajj is kindness, cooperation, and unity among all Muslims,” added the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution for Hajj affairs.

The Head of Iran's Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, Alireza Rashidian also attended the meeting and told the reporters on the sidelines of the meeting that the relations between the two countries could be used in order to facilitate the pilgrimage and improve the quality of services received by the pilgrims of Iran and Iraq, alongside increasing sympathy and unity between the two nations.

The Head of the Iraqi High Commission for Hajj and Umrah referred to the unchangeable geography which has transplanted Iran and Iraq, saying, “The level of the collaborations between the two countries must be improved."

About 84,000 Iranian pilgrims have traveled to Saudi Arabia this year to perform Hajj rituals.

In the past days, half of the Iranian pilgrims have left Medina, and wearing Ihram clothing, have entered Mecca.
