Islamabad(IP): Iran's energy minister said: Iran is ready to invest in the development of its lines to exchange electricity with Pakistan.

Iran PressIran news: According to Iran Press Wednesday evening report; coinciding Iran's electricity industry exhibition and festival was held, Iran's Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian met and talked with Minister of Energy, Power and Petroleum Muhammad Ali.

In this meeting, the capacities of joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy, especially electric energy, were discussed.

In this meeting, Iran's Minister of Energy considered the prospects of cooperation broad and referring to Iran's readiness to develop electricity exchange lines with Pakistan, he said:

"Iran is ready to invest in the development of its lines for electricity exchange with Pakistan.

The Minister of Energy of Pakistan also suggested the necessity of forming a joint energy technical working group so that cooperation can be pursued with more seriousness and speed.

"Mohammad Ali" stated that Iran is one of the best options for supplying the electricity needed in Pakistan, adding that the installed capacity of electricity in Pakistan is about 40,000 megawatts and considering the population, the per capita electricity consumption in this country is very high. This indicates that there is a large market for energy in this country.

The Minister of Energy of Pakistan, while enumerating various solutions to supply the energy needed by Pakistan, called the construction of power plants in Pakistan as well as energy exchange very effective in this field.

"Mohammad Ali", the Minister of Energy of Pakistan, at the invitation of Mehrabian, visited Tehran to participate in the 23rd international exhibition of the electrical industry and the first festival and techno market of the Iranian electrical industry. After participating in the opening ceremony of this exhibition and festival, he met and talked with the Minister of Energy.
