Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister and his Turkish counterpart called for an emergency meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and Denmark.

Iran PressIran News: During a telephone conversation on Saturday evening, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian praised Turkiye's positions in condemning the desecration of the Holy Quran and suggested that an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of Islamic countries in the OIC be held as soon as possible.

For his part, Hakan Fidan condemned again the insult to the Holy Quran and welcomed Amir-Abdollahian's proposal to hold an emergency meeting of the foreign ministers of the member countries of the OIC.

Elsewhere in the telephone conversation, Amir-Abdollahian invited the Turkish foreign minister to visit Tehran. He described the relations between the two countries as friendly and strategic and announced the readiness to hold a joint economic commission between the two countries in Tehran.
