Iran to compete with 35 countries in China Military Tournament

The 5th round of the China International Military Tournament kicks off in China and will continue in 9 other countries with the participation of 36 countries between August 3-18.

Iran Press/Asia: China's two-week military contests started in Korla region, Xinjiang province, northwestern China with the participation of Iran's team on Saturday.

This year's international military tournament, known as the "China-Russia Military Tournament", is being held simultaneously in 10 countries, including Iran, Russia, Armenia, India, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and China.

In Iran, two deep-diving courses (hosted by the Iranian Navy) will be held in Kish Island and a road patrol race in Tehran (hosted by Police Department).

But the Iranian Army has dispatched 24 fighters in the form of an incursion team and 32 fighters in the form of a weapons team to China, competing against other countries' military forces in the tournament.

The Islamic Republic of Iran's military team arrived in northwestern China on Thursday to take part in the international military tournament.

The first round of international military competitions was hosted by Russia and Kazakhstan in 2014, and China has participated in the championships for the past six years and has hosted some of the events since 2017.

Promoting the combat readiness of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran by benefiting from the experiences and lessons learned in other countries, developing the defensive diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran with host countries and participating in competitions through consultations and friendly interactions during seminars in the course of military meetings and competitions and the use of inter-organisational capacities to enhance physical fitness in the field of operations are among the achievements of these international military competitions.
