Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's defense minister Brigadier General Hatami, said on Tuesday that defense ministry's Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company will increase producing of native fighter jets.
Speaking in the sideline of a visit to the Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company in the central province of Isfahan, Hatami added: Iran's Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company has tried to boost its air abilities during the 40 last years, Iran Press reported.
Stressing on the importance of the year of 'Boosting Production' and the importance role of the defense ministry's Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company in this regard, Hatami said: " This strategy is the only way to deal with outrageous sanctions."
Earlier on April 16, Two days ahead of Iran's National Army Day on Thursday, Iranian jet fighter Kowsar held its debut air show.
Kowsar flew with an F5, a Mig 29 and a Saeqeh fighter jet in a joint drill. A Boeing 747 supertanker participated in the show, as well, IRNA reported.
On National Army Day, only indigenized jet fighters will fly, according to the Army commanders.
Kowsar jet fighter was unveiled in mid-summer last year. Kowsar is the third Iranian jet fighter after Azarakhsh and Saeqeh. The domestically-developed jet fighter, utilizing a wide network of Iranian knowledge-based companies and industrial organizations of the Ministry of Defense along with other academic and research centers in the country, has been optimized for combat capability of the pilot, localized avionics and advanced 4th generation fire control as well as mechanical and hydraulic systems and the engine.
The fighter jet features an advanced integrated architecture and fire control avionics.
The fighter jet also utilises a 4th generation digital data network, multi-purpose digital display technology, computerized ballistic calculations of weaponry and the HUD system to increase the accuracy of weapons.
Ammunition hits, advanced multi-objective fire control radar to enhance the detection of targets and threats, accurate radio and navigation independence and a smart mapping system are some of the other features of the new Iranian fighter jet, Kowsar.
The jet will be produced in single seat and twin-seat versions with the twin seat expected to be used in training pilots.203/207
