Iran Press/ Asia: The 2023 Asian Weightlifting Championships (AWC) kicked off on May 5 in Jinju of South Korea and continued until May 13.
At the end of the competition, Iran succeeded to stand in first place in the team ranking.
Alireza Yousefi won the silver medal in the clean-and-jerk move and Ayat Sharifi achieved silver in the snatch move; the two medals brought Iran the championship title in the men's section.
In the men's section, the Iranian team gained 635 points. Uzbekistan ranked second with 631 points and the Chinese stood in third place with 608 points.
