Iran Press/ Iran news: Mohammad Javad Zarif in his speech among Iranians living in Sweden said the US sanctions against him have been ineffective and he is going to meet French president, Emanuel Macron and his counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian in a short visit to the French capital of Paris on Friday.
Zarif started his tour across Scandinavia on Sunday night, during which he visited Finland, Sweden and is going to visit Norway, Iran Press reported.
During his visit to Finland, Zarif met and talked with President Sauli Niinisto and Finnish counterpart Pekka Haavisto. The two sides discussed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), maritime security in the Persian Gulf and also issues related to human rights.
He also met with the Finnish Minister for Development Cooperation and Trade, Ville Skinnari during his stay in the country.
Zarif left Finland on Monday for Sweden on the second leg of a three-nation tour of Scandinavia.
He will continue his trip from Sweden to Norway, the final leg of his tour.
Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif's trips to several countries is a kind of preparation for the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York.
"United Nations General Assembly is a global and international assembly with different kinds of issues being discussed in the assembly, including regional and global issues. So it is normal to do some diplomatic shuttling before the session of the United Nations General Assembly," Seyyed Abbas Mousavi noted.
He also said: "We are waiting for diplomatic activities' results to start the third phase in reducing our level of commitment in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)."
