Iran Press/Europe: The City of Tortosa in the Spanish region Catalonia is currently hosting the CSIT World Sports Games, July 2nd - 7th, 2019.
The Iranian team of Greco-Roman Wrestlers, made up of Mahmoud Salimi Raad, Younes Issa Beiglou, Javad Saberi, Mohammad Ja'far Tavasoli, Mehrdad Bahrami, Hossein Shokri, and Omid Haji Tabar, won seven gold medals at Tortosa in Spain. Another Iranian Greco-Roman Wrestler, Seyyed Mehdi Pour Hosseini, won a bronze medal, reported Iran Press.
12 Medals won by Iranian swimmers
Iranian swimmers won a total of 12 gold, silver and bronze medals on the first day of the CSIT World Sports Games in Tortosa.
In the 200 metre swimming event, Iranian swimmers won a total of three silver medals in various age groups.
In the 50 metre breast stroke, Iranian swimmers won a silver medal in the 50-54 age group, won a silver and a bronze medal in the 30-34 age group, and won a silver medal in the 25-29 age group.
In the 100 metre freestyle event, Iranian swimmers won a gold medal in the 50-54 age group, and they also won a gold and a bronze medal in the 30-34 age group.
In the 4 x 50 metre team event, Iranian swimmers won a bronze medal.
This was the first time Iranian swimmers competed in the CSIT World Sports Games, organised by International Workers and Amateurs in Sports Confederation.203/211
