Iran Press/Iran news: The speaker of Iranian parliament Ali Larijani and senior Iranian MPs in meeting with Iraqi president and accompanying delegation discussed subjects of mutual interest, including expansion of relations between Tehran and Baghdad and regional and international issues.
Iraqi president and officials in a two-day visit to Iran met President Rouhani and secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Iran Press News Agency reports.
Iraqi President Barham Salih in meeting with President Rouhani said he has come to Iran with “a clear message” to further boost bilateral ties.
Iraq has also rejected a US deadline to stop importing Iranian natural gas under new American sanctions.

Before meeting with Iranian parliament speaker and parliamentary delegation, Barham Salih met and talked with Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

However, the last meeting of Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani with Barham Salih occurred on May 10, 2015 in Tehran when Barham Salih was serving as Deputy Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Barham Salih.
At the time of Barham Salih trip to Iran in 2015, the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group were on the control of parts of Iraq and neighboring Syria and Iraqi forces were at the fight against terrorists.
In the last meeting Larijani stressed on the Islamic Republic of Iran support for Iraqi nation and government and also declare Islamic republic of Iran readiness to offer any kind of assistance.
Salih, for his part, praised Iran's support for the Iraqi nation and government in their fight against ISIL Takfiri terrorists.
