Iran's OHCHR protests violation of Iranians rights in Europe

Tehran (IP) - Iran has appointed a special rapporteur to investigate the plight of Iranian prisoners in Europe, strongly protesting the violation of the rights of Iranians in Europe.

Iran Press/Iran news: In a letter to Jeff Turnholm Mickelson, Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union, Ali Bagheri-Kani, Secretary-General of the High Council for Human Rights of the Iranian Judiciary, cited the bitter examples of violations of the rights of Iranian citizens in Europe and strongly criticized their irresponsibility, and called on them to work with the Iranian Special Rapporteur on the situation of Iranian prisoners in Europe.

The Secretary-General of the High Council for Human Rights of the Iranian Judiciary, enumerating some of the inhumane acts of European governments, called on the Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union to stop European countries from continuing to violate the rights of the Iranian people.

In another part of the letter, citing a report by the Human Rights Council rapporteur on the negative effects of unilateral coercive measures, he referred to the deaths of 31 children with MPS disease due to sanctions.

High Council for Human Rights of the Iranian Judiciary delivered the text of its protest letter today during a face-to-face meeting with the Ambassador of Portugal, who holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union.
