Iran's Foreign Minister says regional efforts are underway to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza war so that humanitarian aid could enter the war-hit city.

Iran PressAsia: Explaining the results of his trips to Qatar and Türkiye to pursue the issue of Gaza, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told reporters on Wednesday evening in Ankara that reaching a political solution was on the agenda in Qatar to reach a ceasefire, facilitating humanitarian aid to Gaza, and releasing non-military prisoners including women and children.

Amir-Abdollahian talked about his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, saying Erdogan welcomed Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's idea of holding an emergency meeting of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) member countries in Saudi Arabia as the OIC periodical chairman.

Yet, the Palestinian Resistance front remains alert and will take due measures in case the Israeli regime continues its genocide in Gaza, Amir-Abdollahian pointed out.

Iran's top diplomat added: "The Israeli side, shocked and confused, is crazily killing women and children and failed to deploy its forces to Gaza through the ground."

He also reported the high readiness of the resistance forces and quoted the leader of Hamas Ismail Haniya that Palestinian forces are prepared for months of confrontation in case the Israeli regime continues aggression against innocent Gazan women and children.

Haniyah said that so far the Israeli regime has killed 50 Israeli captives in Gaza, some of whom were kept in the basements of the hospitals like Al-Mamadani Hospital.

Iran's top diplomat expressed hope that the efforts come to fruition to stop the Israeli genocide in Gaza, facilitate the entrance of humanitarian aid, and prevent the forced migration of Gazans from their city. 219
