Iran Press/ Asia: According to the Iran press news agency, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Qaraei Ashtiani, Iran's Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, upon his arrival at Dushanbe airport, was welcomed by Tajik Defense Minister Colonel General Sherali Mirzo, Imam Ali Saberzadeh, Tajikistan Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defense, and other high-ranking Tajik military officials.
Iran's Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics will discuss and exchange views on the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of defense and how to implement the relevant agreements in a meeting with Sherali Mirzo, the Minister of Defense of Tajikistan.
Brigadier General Ashtiani will also meet with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
Last May, the defense ministers of Iran and Tajikistan met and discussed with each other on the sidelines of the meeting of the defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states in New Delhi, the capital of India.
The Islamic Republic of Iran was among the first countries to recognize the independence of Tajikistan and was the first country to open its embassy in Dushanbe.
No country has a close relationship with Tajikistan like the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the reason for this is the racial, historical, cultural, religious, and linguistic affinities of the nations of the two countries.
In the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Tajikistan also enjoys a high position, and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has referred to the relations between the two countries as "kinship relations".
