Iran Press/ Europe: Kazem Jalali, Iranian Ambassador to Russia, on Friday in the Russian city of Astrakhan met with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Minister of Economy and Customs of Astrakhan Province, the Chairman of the Iran-Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce, and a group of Iranian and Russian businessmen at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce in Astrakhan.
Jalali, referring to the approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia to expand economic and trade relations between the two countries, as well as Iran's view of Astrakhan province as the main gateway for trade with Russia and turning Astrakhan and Iranian ports into a direct border between the two countries, via the sea corridor, stressed the need for cooperation of Iranian traders to make more use of preferential tariffs.
The head of Astrakhan Customs, while explaining some of the weaknesses in preparing declarations and certificates by Iranian traders, gave the necessary explanations to upgrade it and take advantage of the preferential tariff.
