Baghdad (IP) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared Tehran’s readiness for a “war situation” while emphasizing its commitment to peace efforts in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

Iran Press/ West Asia: His remarks came during a joint press conference with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in Baghdad on Sunday, as part of Araghchi’s regional tour, which has also taken him to Lebanon, Syria, and Saudi Arabia.

“We are fully prepared for a war situation. We are not afraid of war, but we do not want war and we will make efforts for a just peace in Gaza and Lebanon,” Araghchi asserted.

He underscored that the Islamic Republic is not looking to escalate tensions but remains vigilant and ready for any scenario. “The Islamic Republic of Iran does not seek an escalation of tension, conflict, and war, although it is ready for any situation. We are ready for war as we are ready for peace, and this is the firm position of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he added.
