Iran Press/ Europe: While Iran is facing the fourth wave of coronavirus, the Iranian embassy in Russia, through intensive negotiations with the Russian government, finalized the contract to purchase 30 million Sputnik vaccines (60 million doses).
"According to the agreed schedule, vaccines will be sent to Iran from June to December 2021," Iran's embassy to Moscow tweeted.
So far, the fifth consignment of the 'Sputnik V' COVID-19 vaccine (exceeds half a million doses) entered Iran from Russia.
The Russian Sputnik V has been approved in 57 countries. According to research, the vaccine has an efficacy of 91.6% and, it is effective against variants of the virus.
Iran's customs deputy announced on Thursday the import of 400,000 doses of Chinese Sinopharm vaccine to Iran.
Iran also imported vaccines from South Korea and India.
