(IP)- Iran and Pakistan officials discussed cooperation in energy, the East-West Corridor, and bilateral trade.

Iran PressAsia: Pakistan's Minister for Planning Development and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan reviewed the opportunities for further cooperation in the aforementioned subjects. 

Sami Saeed, Pakistan's Minister of Planning Development, stressed the importance of the Tehran-Islamabad bilateral cooperation in the meeting with Iran's ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam.

Pakistan's minister also emphasized the special position of Tehran in the foreign policy of Islamabad.

The meeting included officials from Pakistan in the economic and foreign investment sector.

The two sides discussed various ways of cooperation, including trade, and a joint economic corridor plan between Pakistan and China.

On the importance of the development of ties with Pakistan, the Iranian diplomat enlisted various fields, including the economy, within the framework of the ECO organization, the East-West corridor, and bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the ports of the two countries. 

Sami Saeed, for his part, appreciated the Iranian Embassy in Pakistan, announcing Pakistan's readiness to further opportunities in bilateral cooperation.

He added to the importance of the border markets between Pakistan and Iran, suggesting more areas of mutual interest and cooperation.
