A member of Iran's parliament, Seyyed Hossein Naghavi Hosseini, has said Tehran accepts the JCPOA , in spite of some disagreements, and all the other states signatory to deal should respect and honour their commitments.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Wednesday, Naghavi Hosseini said:  "The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was an international agreement and in spite of Iran's reservations with some of its' articles, we have accepted the agreement. Iran and International community expect that the  (remaining) members of the 5+1 Group stick to their commitments and also stick to international agreements."
In further comments, Naghavi Hosseini, who is also a spokesman for the parliament's national security and foreign policy commission, said: "The United States has walked away from an international agreement it was a signatory to, in clear breach of international laws and norms, dishonouring its commitments.  We expect the Iranian President [ Hassan Rouhani ] to explain Iran's positions clearly at the SCO summit, and to also explain America's betrayal, in order to lessen the economic pressure that US imposes on us".

Naghavi Hosseini concluded by saying:  "In recent years Iran has worked hard to increase its' corporation with major economic powers and Iran has achieved some positive results as well.  Bearing that in mind, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as an influential economic bloc, has caught Iran's attention, and we have tried to gain full membership of this organization. Iran has expanded its' economic corporation with members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization."

Meanwhile, Iran's deputy foreign minister for political affairs, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, said on Sunday that Iran will stop negotiating with remaining members of the JCPOA if it feels that "the negotiations are a waste of time".

Donald Trump’s decision to break with the landmark nuclear deal with Iran and imposition of fresh sanctions was met with defiance in Tehran, and strong opposition from the European Union, Russia and China.
