Tehran (IP) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Libya emphasized the determination of the authorities of the two countries to expand bilateral relations.

Iran PressIran News: According to Iran Press, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed and exchanged views on various dimensions of bilateral relations and regional and international developments after welcoming Libya's Minister of Foreign Affairs Najla El Mangoush in Tehran on Tuesday.

Expressing his satisfaction with the establishment of security and stability in Libya, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran voiced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to expand relations with the friendly country of Libya and help in the reconstruction of this country.

The head of the diplomatic service of the Islamic Republic of Iran criticized the double standadrds of the West and the politicized exploitation of the issue of women's rights by explaining the real status of women in Iran.

Amir- Abdollahian also condemned the insulting action in Sweden and Denmark in desecrating the Holy Quran and called the solidarity and unity of Islamic countries in the world important in this field.

Libyan Foreign Minister Najla El Mangoush also expressed her satisfaction with the trip to Tehran, after nearly 17 years since the visit of a high-ranking Libyan official to Iran.

The foreign ministers of Iran and Libya agreed on the development of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including the activation of the Joint High Commission, the formation of a political consultation committee, the strengthening of economic and trade relations, scientific and technological cooperation, and the holding of special exhibitions.

The ministers of foreign affairs of Iran and Libya also expressed their satisfaction with the developments in the relations between the two countries in recent months, including the upgrading of the diplomatic representation of Libya in Tehran to the level of ambassador, the resumption of the activity of the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tripoli and the resumption of the shipping line between the two countries.
