Iran Press/ Asia: Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, who is in the Chinese city of Tunxi where the third conference of Afghanistan's neighbors is underway, met with his Indonesian counterpart Ms. Retno Marsudi on Wednesday afternoon held talks over issues of mutual interest.
In the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister underlined the Islamic Republic of Iran's interest in expanding cooperation with Indonesia, especially in the economic field. Amir Abdollahian said holding a joint commission of economic collaboration, finalizing an agreement on preferential tariffs, and strengthening cooperation in healthcare, including the Covid vaccine, will all be a step toward giving momentum to the collaboration between the two countries.
He then referred to the name given to the Persian year 1400 in Iran and the knowledge-based companies' existing capacities. Amir Abdollahian outlined the Iranian scientists' development of the technology of several types of Covid vaccine and welcomed an expansion of bilateral cooperation with Indonesia.

Amir Abdollahian then appreciated constructive cooperation between the two countries in international bodies and praised Indonesia's principled policy on the issue of Palestine. The top Iranian diplomat then briefed his Indonesian counterpart on the latest developments in the Vienna talks.
Ms. Retno Marsudi, for her part, referred to the existing possibilities to expand economic cooperation with Iran. She expressed pleasure about the rise in bilateral trade between the two countries. She underlined the need to follow up on the ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in different fields, particularly healthcare and the preferential tariffs agreement.
Consular issues and developments in West Asia were other topics discussed by the foreign ministers of Iran and Indonesia in the meeting. The two top diplomats agreed to continue their consultations over the matters.
