Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking on Tuesday 14 July at a meeting of the Government’s Economic Coordination Board, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani referred to the implementation of special policies and programs by the government as much as possible to overcome the current problems, adding, "Americans expected that shortly after the sanctions began, Iran's economy would stop, but today we have been able to run the country by planning and relying on the oil-free economy, which is a display of strength and a great victory for the Iranian nation in the economic war”.
Pointing to the global pandemic of COVID-19 which has disrupted and challenged not only Iran’s economy but also the economies of all countries around the world, Rouhani described the fight against the pandemic as another stage of the government's success adding, "In such a situation that even some developed countries have a hard time providing the daily needs of the people, the government has overcome these problems with special measures and readiness with the cooperation of the people, and will continue to do so”.
The President stated that meeting the essential needs of the people and producers is one of the priorities of the government, highlighting the comprehensive efforts of the officials in this regard.
Rouhani went on to say: "So far, the basic and essential needs of the people and producers have been met, and there is no doubt that the related bodies should regulate, control prices and prevent fluctuations”.
Referring to the supply of foreign exchange needed by producers, Rouhani said: "The government supports the production sector with all its potential and power in the year of 'Surge in Production' and assures economic executives that the country's production wheel is strong, and will continue to move with the supply of foreign exchange and the required raw materials”.
