Iran Press/Iran News: During today's cabinet session, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stated, "yesterday we witnessed the political defeat of the United States against Iran in the UNSC. The United States has suffered two defeats in recent weeks; One was the draft resolution against Iran, and the other is that all 14 members of the Security Council yesterday supported the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA )."
The President noted that "The Islamic Republic of Iran will immediately return to its obligations whenever the other parties are ready to fulfill their obligations in the UN Security Council. If the Americans want to strike a political blow to JCPOA, Iran will not tolerate it and will show its decisive action in this regard."
The US failed legally, politically, and morally many times
President Rouhani said that the Americans may say that they have made achievements by putting pressure on Iran, but they have legally, politically, and morally failed many times.
During today's cabinet session, referring to the anniversary of the US Air Force's targeting of an Iranian Airbus aircraft in Tir 1367 (July 3, 1988), President Rouhani said, "Tomorrow is 12 of Tir; The day our Airbus was shot down by American missiles. This was a huge crime that took place in the history of the country."
Rouhani added, "The Americans shot down our passenger plane, they say they have made a mistake, but didn't apologize, they say they thought it was an F-14 but it wasn't, and they gave an honor medal to the person who shot down the plane and killed 290 people."
"This is the path the Americans have followed since then. Suppose they made a mistake, at least the should apologize and condemned the person, they shouldn't have given a medal" Rouhani highlighted.
In Trump Administration, we face anti-human rights abuses against Iran
"We are witnessing the same thing again, and the United Nations was the scene of the US political failure against Iran," Rouhani said. "In the last three and a half years, when the new US government was in the office, we have been facing illegal actions and anti-human rights abuses against the Islamic Republic."
Referring to this evening's video conference with the presidents of Russia and Turkey, Rouhani highlighted, "Iran was supposed to host the meeting, but because of health issues, the meeting will be held via video conference."
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, Russia's President Vladimir Putin, and Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani will hold a video conference on July 1 to discuss the conflict in Syria.
The three countries held talks in the Kazakh capital Astana in 2018, aimed at reducing tensions in Syria.
