Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman responded to a UAE Minister's accusations against Iran at the Conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Iran Press/Iran news: "Some states have made habits of suggesting baseless accusations to cover up their own disastrous policies", Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghassemi said on Saturday in a reference to the foreign minister of United Arab Emirates.

"The rationale behind the OIC was to create unity and convergence among member states, " Ghassemi said , adding, "Abusing the meetings of the organization for putting baseless, provocative issues against other members damages the interaction and trust among the members," Iran Press reported.

UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the 46th session of the Foreign Ministers’ Conference of OIC accused Iran of spreading chaos and sectarianism across the Middle East.

Calling for unity in the Muslim world

"The member states should take steps toward strengthening unity and solidarity in the Muslim world instead of misusing the opportunity to promote the goals and dictated policies of states outside the Muslim world", he added.

Iran's indisputable sovereignty over the three Persian Gulf islands

Ghassemi also reiterated that Iran's sovereignty over the three Persian Gulf islands is definite, and suggesting such claims would make no change in the legal status of the islands.

Condemning military intervention of UAE in Yemen

Rejecting another accusation that Iran is meddling in the internal affairs of other countries, the spokesman called the Emirati foreign minister to pay heed to the dire situation in Yemen and the humanitarian catastrophe that is created in the country by the military intervention of UAE and some other countries.

The 46th session of the OIC’s Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Abu Dhabi on Friday.  208/211/105
