Islamabad (IP) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran said: Iran and Pakistan are determined to turn the two countries' borders into a place of trade and transit and double the trade exchange to 5 billion dollars.

Iran PressAsia: In a joint press conference with his Pakistani counterpart, Hossein Amirabdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country, expressed sympathy with the government and people of Pakistan while condemning the recent terrorist act in Pakistan.

Referring to today's talks with his Pakistani counterpart, he said: These talks led to the signing of four documents and the following up of past documents.

He added: We had discussions about the EP gas line project and we know that the completion of this pipeline is in line with the interests of the two nations. Also, we are ready to go through the implementation steps as soon as possible.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs stated: We also discussed financial and banking problems and their solutions in international laws.

Referring to the visit of his Pakistani counterpart to Tehran last year, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country said: "We had a discussion about the reopening of border bazaars and we are ready to create a special economic zone at the border point of Ring Don."

Iran’s FM added: We agree that the criminals of the two countries should be exchanged as soon as possible, and we should take measures to release the fishing vessels.

Also, in response to a question about the solution to fight terrorism and cooperation between Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan, he said: We consider the framework of regional initiatives to be the best way to resolve the situation in Afghanistan, and supporting the people of Afghanistan under any circumstances is a human duty.

He added: We consider security in Afghanistan in line with political stability in this country.

Pakistani FM: Iran, Pakistan Co-op to conuter Islamophobia

While lambasting Islamophobia and desecrating the holy Quran, Pakistan's Minister of Foreign emphasized that Iran and Pakistan have firmly set to fight Islamophobia.

Attending a joint press brief in Islamabad, Pakistan, with his Iranian counterpart on August 3, 2023, and in response to Iran Press, Pakistan's Foreign Minister said: Pakistan, as a representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, made an effort to fight Islamophobia, and we issued a resolution to condemn the action and named the International Day against Islamophobia.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed: Iran and Pakistan should continue their efforts, and we also respect other religions.

Zardari added: One of the examples of progress between the two countries was the opening of the former border market and the electricity transmission project to Pakistan. These projects indicate the commitment of the two countries to make their nations benefit.

The Pakistani official said: We appreciate Iran's efforts to run electricity in Quetta, Pakistan, which makes schools and hospitals active.

Two Iran and Pakistan countries have negotiated the expansion of economic and energy ties, so we finalized the 2023-2028 strategic plan as the most crucial.

Zardari added: "Pakistan is looking for regional integration, so 5 more border bazaars will be opened by the end of 2023."

He added: Exchanging and freeing the two countries' prisoners was discussed and will be followed up.

While appreciating Iran's support to Kashmir, he said: Iran and Pakistan are interested in peace and stability in Afghanistan.
