With the beginning of the Muharram month, a special virtual mourning program for Iranians, students, and devotees of Imam Hussein (AS) was held by the Cultural Counselor of Iran's Embassy in Japan.

Iran PressAsia: From the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak and the ban on holding gatherings and face-to-face programs, the performance of programs in order to develop cultural interactions between Iran and Japan continued with serious attention to cyberspace.

Accordingly, religious rituals and ceremonies such as those in Shaban and Ramadan months on occasions like the birthday of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth  Shi'a Imam, and his sister Hazrat Masoumeh (AS) and Eid al-Ghadir were specially held for Japan.

Some of the programs were performed with the cooperation of Imam Reza (AS) Holy Shrine's Astan Qods Razavi from Mashhad, northeastern Iran.

Production of special videos for special occasions as well as an explanation of related topics and introduction of the occasions and events in the virtual networks of cultural counseling in Japanese for the Japanese audience and culture-lovers are among other measures in the field.

The continuation of religious programs in the days of Muharram has been set up by Iran's Cultural Counselor, which can be downloaded on the 'Virtual Hosseinieh' and the YouTube account of the Iranian Cultural Counselor in Japan (http://bit.ly/karbala991).

In these special programs, Nasser Rafiei and  Seyyed Hossein Hosseini Qomi, who are prominent clerics and experts, will give a virtual speech, and in the end, there will be elegies chanted mourning Imam Hussein (AS).

The special Muharram program has been prepared in collaboration with the International Promotion Center of the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communication, the representative office of the organization in Qom and Al-Mortaza International Institute to be used in Japan.
