Iran Press/Iran news: Saeed Khatibzadeh announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemned Danish extremists' for setting fire to the holy Quran in Sweden's Linköping under the pretext of the freedom of speech.
Khatibzadeh said the blasphemy during Ramadan month made the Muslims upset and irate throughout the world, including in Sweden:
"The blasphemy is a clear example of hatemongering and in violation of the freedom of expression, and must be condemned by those who believe in coexistence and dialogue between religions."
He held the Swedish government accountable for the desecration. He stressed that Iran and other Islamic countries expected a strong and rapid reaction to the blasphemy so that such incidents would not happen anymore.
"The desecration and those who advocated it just further the necessity of unity among the Muslims and Islamic countries against the plots of the Islam's enemies," Khatibzadeh stressed.
On Friday, an extremist right-wing faction in Sweden set fire to the Quran, followed by protests and unrest in Sweden and other Islamic countries.
