Johannesburg (IP):The foreign ministers of Iran and Belarus met and discussed bilateral issues on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit that is being held in South Africa.

According to Iran press, Iran and Belarus Foreign Ministers Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Sergei Aleinik discussed some issues related to the agenda of bilateral relations, including the progress made in the implementation of the bilateral cooperation roadmap, on Thursday on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in South Africa. The country, which was signed by the presidents of the two countries, had a conversation.

According Iran press, Iran and Belarus Foreign Ministers Amir-Abdollahian and Sergey Alynik discussed some issues related to the agenda of bilateral relations on the sidelines of the BRICS meeting in South Africa today.

They  also discussed the progress made in the implementation of the cooperation roadmap of the two countries, which was signed by the presidents of the two countries.

The full membership of Iran, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Egypt and Argentina in this coalition was confirmed today by its leaders.

The BRICS group was formed with the cooperation of five emerging economic powers of the world, Brazil, Russia, China, India and South Africa, with the aim of countering US unilateralism.

In today's statement of the BRICS summit, it was announced that the request of Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Argentina and Ethiopia to join this group has been accepted, and the full membership of these countries is scheduled to begin in January 2024.
