Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, Mohammad Shariatmadari, and the Syrian Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Salwa Abdullah, called for practical steps to develop cooperation.

Iran Press/Iran News: In a video conference, Shariatmadari called for a timetable implementing the Joint Action Plan and expressed hope that more cooperation would be possible under the agreement, which was signed last year.

The technology and engineering services, pharmaceuticals, metals, petrochemical industries, oil and gas, civil engineering, and construction are among the common areas of cooperation between Iran and Syria that Shariatmadari mentioned in his virtual meeting.

The Syrian Minister also appreciated Iranians readiness to continue cooperation between the two countries and called for the use of Iran's experience in welfare, micro-funds, and rural development funds.

Later, the Iranian and Syrian ambassadors to Moscow stressed the need to improve bilateral relations and Tehran's continued support for Damascus.
