Iran Press/Asia: Iran's Ambassador to Afghanistan Mohammad Reza Bahrami and Afghan Minister of Information and Culture Hasina Safi signed a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Sunday Sep 16,2018.
Accordingly the two sides agreed to build and develop houses of culture in the Afghan city of Herat as well as in the Iranian city of Mashhad.
Hasina Safi expressed hope that through development of such houses and centres, the stage would be set for expansion of bilateral cooperation.
Bahrami called the measure a new chapter in the history of the existing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The program also includes holding of cultural exhibitions in the two countries and it promotes contribution of Iranian and Afghan Youth in the activities and events provided by the cultural centres in Herat and Mashhad.
Earlier on Sep 11,2018, the chief executive of the Islamic republic of Afghanistan, Abdullah Abdullah in a meeting with Iran's deputy foreign minister Abbas Araghchi, had said the relationship between Iran and Afghanistan is based on national sovereignty and national interests and will not be affected by other countries.
Two days later on Sep13,2018 Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, met Afghan president Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in Kabul to discuss the expansion of bilateral relations, strengthen economic cooperation, trade and transport financial and banking services, climate change, water shortage, and joint battle against terrorism.
