The Iranian Minister of Interior said that the parliamentary elections are on the agenda of the ministry in the current year.

Iran PressIran news: Responding to Iran Press about the status quo of the parliamentary elections, Iran's interior minister, Ahmad Vahidi said on Wednesday, that the names of those candidates whose registration was finalized were sent to the relevant executive boards to be assessed for qualification. 

Vahidi said the boards were assigned a two-week deadline to examine the qualification and after that, if any candidate had any complaint, they could appeal to the supervisory board. 

The Spokesman of Iran's Election Headquarters said on Thursday that 24,829 candidates have registered definitively for the Parliamentary election.

Iranian Parliament elections are scheduled to take place in Iran on 1 March 2024, four years after the previous election in 2020.

The elected candidates will serve a four-year term. The previous legislative election turnout was recorded at 42.57%. 219
