Tehran(IP): Iran's Minister of Interior said on Saturday that Elections are a very bright point in the history of the Islamic Republic for the consolidation of religious democracy during the Islamic Revolution era.

Iran Press/Iran news:  According to Iran Press, Ahmad Vahidi stated in a press conference after the end of Iran's 12th parliamentary elections run off:

"Today, the half-finished tasks of the elections of the Iranian parliament has been completed. Elections are a very bright point in the history of the Islamic Republic for the consolidation of religious democracy during the Islamic Revolution, and now we are witnessing a new period of it."

He further added: "thanks to the cooperation and epic made by the people, the runoff held at the maximum degree of security and accuracy, with the good public turnout and in a competitive atmosphere, which was against the enemy's will to foment security issues in the physical and cyber spheres with the accuracy that existed. All those plans were ruined and foiled.

The Minister of Interior said: "It has always been usual in the runoff elections that the turnout rate has decreased, but in this phase, there has been more participation - about 6 percent - than the previous round, and it has almost doubled."
