Islamabad (IP) - Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is granted protective bail for two weeks and can’t be arrested till the next hearing, as per orders of the Islamabad High Court.

Iran PressAsia: He appeared in Islamabad High Court Friday under heavy police guards and security measures, while his supporters were not allowed to come into the Courts premises. 

 

Islamabad High Court granted him bail against all cases including the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case for two weeks. He was also granted ten days' bail for the cases registered regarding Lahore including the “Zil Shah Murder case”, this bail guarantees Mr. Khan to travel outside the Capital city, somehow he would be staying in Islamabad residence according to sources.

There was a chance he might travel to Lahore, keeping in mind the Punjab government has extended the duration of Section 144 in the province and continued the internet suspension.

The court urged that the state should ensure the safety of Imran Khan and he should not be arrested in any new case till May 17. The court also ordered Imran Khan to give a clear declaration that he will condemn what happened.

While talking to media for a minute Imran Khan stated that half of my party’s leadership is behind the bar, I was abducted from the court and later warrants were issued, there’s no truth that I got relief from the court”.

During the hearing Imran Khan requested that the statement of the Interior Minister was alarming and Government could arrest him again, he stayed inside the court with his lawyers to receive the written protective bail orders.

On the other hand, Molana Fazal-ul-Rehman, the head of PDM has announced to stage a protest against the Supreme Court of Pakistan, he also accused the highest court to protect a criminal.
