Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking on Thursday morning on his arrival in the city of Zanjan in northwestern Iran, Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi said much has been done to develop this province, and these efforts should be commended.
He added: "Advancement and development is a never-ending road, and there is plenty more to do to further develop the city of Zanjan and the province of Zanjan. Thus we need to plan ahead and take steps one-by-one."
Commenting on his trip to Zanjan, Raisi said he wanted to meet the people of this province face-to-face and to get to know first-hand the problems that they face. He also said it was an honor for him to take part in the mourning ceremonies for the Chief of martyrs, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in the city of Zanjan.
In further remarks, the Head of the Judiciary pointed to his upcoming meetings with the esteemed families of the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, as well as prominent religious leaders and clerics, and those who work for the Judiciary in Zanjan.
Raisi said he wanted to hear their points of view, and get to know first-hand some of the problems which they faced.
Raisi also spoke at a Thursday morning meeting with prominent personalities, officials, academics, religious leaders and the elite of Zanjan. He urged officials to pay more attention to e-commerce and the economy of cyberspace.
He said India earns a lot of foreign currency through the internet, computer programming, analysis, and e-commerce, earning almost as much as Iran does through selling oil and gas. He said Pakistan is also beginning to make good in-roads in this important field, as have many other countries.
The Head of the Judiciary said young people who have studied computer programming should be able to earn a living through the internet, cyberspace and using their programming skills.
Elsewhere in his remarks Ebrahim Raisi said many European countries earn a lot through fishing and other maritime activities, even though the extent of their coastline is much less than that of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He pointedly added: "In some European countries almost half the economy is related to maritime activities and the natural resources and bounties provided by the Sea, and we can learn a lot from that! We must make better use of our Seas, coast, and maritime resources."
Ebrahim Raisi also pointed to the dispatch of seven different groups to various towns and cities in Zanjan province, saying their task is to get to know the problems faced by ordinary local people and to report back their findings.
