Cascais (IP) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, speaking at the 10th United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Forum, declared that achieving global peace is unattainable without addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis in West Asia, particularly the plight of the Palestinian people, while criticizing international institutions for their inaction.

Iran Press/Europe: Araghchi condemned the international community’s silence on 14 months of continuous genocide committed by Israel, accusing bodies like the UN Security Council, International Court of Justice (ICJ), and International Criminal Court (ICC) of failing to uphold international law and human rights."

The crimes and barbarity of the Israeli regime have placed the global community at a critical crossroads," he said.

The Foreign Minister asserted that Israel’s decades-long effort to eliminate the Palestinian people constitutes a colonial and racist agenda. He called for immediate and collective action to stop the ongoing crisis, stressing that peace and stability worldwide depend on addressing these violations.

Araghchi pointed to the complicity of nations like the United States, which provide military and political support to Israel. He stated that these countries must be held accountable as partners in the regime’s crimes.

He criticized Israeli leaders for weaponizing “anti-Semitism” to suppress opposition to their aggressive and expansionist policies, arguing that the region's peace requires ending Israel's occupation and apartheid system.

Araghchi urged full enforcement of the ICJ's interim measures on genocide prevention for Palestinians and called for swift implementation of the ICC’s arrest warrant for the Israeli Prime Minister. Without such actions, he warned, the credibility of the United Nations and its principles remains under threat.
