Iran Press/ Iran News: The Director-General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Hormozgan province Allah-Morad Afifipour said on Tuesday that these buoys were previously imported from abroad and were installed in the waterways of different parts of the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea, including the waters leading to the Strait of Hormoz."
He added: "The first domestically-manufactured buoy is an important step in the path of self-sufficiency and independence of importing navigational equipment",Iran Press reported.
A buoy is a floating device that provides safe sea routes for ships and vessels in seas, canals, and other waterways.
Without the buoys, there could be risks to the vessels such as crashes, running aground, and other damages.
