Iran PressAsia: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed, in a phone call today, with Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, the developments of the Russian military operation in Ukraine and its repercussions on the grain export agreement through the Black Sea.

The two sides also discussed the situation in both northern Syria and Sudan.

During the call, Erdogan expressed the importance that his country attaches to the continuation of the grain shipping agreement across the Black Sea, stressing its readiness to participate in the working group to be formed in the event of an agreement on the ammonia pipeline.

Regarding the situation in northern Syria, the Turkish president highlighted the great importance of the decision to extend the United Nations aid mechanism to Syria across the border last July.
