Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Spokesman Abbas Mousavi said E3 could have stopped the US unilateral illegal withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iran Press/Iran news: Seyyed Abbas Mousavi on Monday said: "The three European signatories to the JCPOA should have criticized the US over its withdrawal from the deal and if there is going to be negotiations it will be over how they should implement their commitments."

In response to the IP correspondent’s question, he said, “We will wait to see the level of European commitments in JCPOA and then we will talk about our decisions and measures.”

“We will continue our diplomatic activities, and we will attend the upcoming Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) conference,” said Seyyed Abbas Mousavi in his press conference in Tehran.

He added that the French President’s advisor will visit Iran in the future.

Mousavi rejected the claims regarding the destination of the ‘Grace 1’ supertanker carrying the Iranian crude, which was seized by British marines in the Strait of Gibraltar, saying, “The ship was a supertanker and none of the Syrian ports have the capacity to let such a huge supertanker birth, and because of its hugeness it had to go through the Gibraltar waterway.”

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman further criticized the UK over “piracy” saying, “Providing enough evidence, we have asked the British government to release the supertanker and the illegal seizure must come to an end so that the ship could go; this is piracy.”

When asked about the possibility of re-negotiation with the US if it removes the sanctions, he answered: “We will not negotiate about the JCPOA since it was closed before and even a single word will not be added to it nor will a single word be edited, but as said before, if the US stops its economic terrorism against Iran and implement its commitments within the nuclear deal, it can be part of the talks with the 4+1 countries.”

Mousavi went on to say that the three European signatories to the JCPOA should have criticized the US over its withdrawal from the deal and if there is going to be negotiations it will be over how they should implement their commitments.
