Iran Press/ Iran news: Speaking at the third national conference on Veterans of Jihad and Resistance in Tehran on Sunday, Defence Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said that Iran will successfully overcome America's economic terrorism.
Praising the culture of martyrdom, Defence Minister Hatami said the enemies wanted to establish a Daesh terrorist state within Iraq, and they had captured more than half of Iraqi soil, and they wanted to plunder Iraq's wealth and natural resources, start a fratricidal war between Sunni and Shia Muslims in this region, in order to plunder Iraq's resources more easily, and in order to reduce pressure on the Zionist regime.
Brigadier General Hatami pointedly added: "But it was the Iraqi armed forces, with assistance from the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the culture of martyrdom, which resulted in the complete uprooting of Daesh terrorists from Iraqi soil."
Elsewhere in his comments Defence Minister Hatami said: "The only way to counter the maximum pressure policy of the US administration is through resistance and following the path of the martyrs of the Sacred Defence era."
