Iran Press/Asia: The series of blasts in Sri Lanka occurred on Easter Sunday. At least seven suicide bombers have been involved in Sri Lanka terrorist attacks. The first six took place at three churches in capital city Colombo as well as in Negombo and Batticaloa towns and at three hotels, while the next two explosions occurred in Dehiwala and Dematagoda—two suburbs of Colombo.
Also, an improvised explosive device was discovered in close proximity to the Bandaranaike International Airport, the Strait Times reported.
There was no claim of responsibility for the Easter Sunday attacks, which mainly took place during church services or at hotel breakfast buffets.
Security forces are carrying out searches across the island to find those behind the bombs at churches and hotels. Police said on Monday 24 people had been arrested, all of whom were Sri Lankan. 101/205
