Afghanistan (IP) - The Iranian Embassy in Afghanistan condemned the terrorist attack in Balkh province in which the governor of the city was killed.

Iran PressAsia: Molla Mohammad Davoud Mozzammel, the governor of Balkh in northern Afghanistan, was assassinated on Thursday in the governorate building.

Iran's embassy considered the terrorist attack as an act of waging insecurity in Afghanistan. He was killed one day after receiving the Afghan officials from Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.

Molla Mozzammel is the most prominent Taliban official being assassinated since the group re-took power in 2021.

Terrorist blasts in various parts of Afghanistan, including Kabul, are indicative of the fact that contrary to the Taliban's claims, the group has not yet managed to appropriately establish security in the country.
