Iran Press/ Asia: Today, March 8, 2023, and Shaban 15, 1444 AH, is the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (AS), who was born in 255 AH, 1,189 years ago.
Shia Muslims believe that Imam Mahdi (AS) is alive, living among the people, and expecting the permission of God to reappear and make the whole world replete with justice as it is replete with oppression.
Hundreds of people, including scholars and students, were present in the celebration of Sha'ban 15th in different areas of Kashmir. Speakers in these ceremonies stated that Imam Mahdi (AS) is the savior of mankind who will bring peace to the world.
Decorating houses with candles and lights is one of the ancient customs of Kashmiri people to celebrate Sha'ban 15th.
Visiting the graves and decorating the graves with candles are other customs of the people of Kashmir on the anniversary of the birth of Imam Mahdi (a.s.) in which people from different walks of life participate in this ceremony. Adolescent girls in the Kashmir region sang the long-lasting anthem "Salute Commander" during the celebration of Sha'ban 15th.
Also, a grand march was held in the Magham region of Kashmir, where children and teenagers were widely present and chanted the slogan " Labaik Ya Mahdi, Labaik Ya Khamenei" which means renewing allegiance with Imam Mahdi( AS) and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution respectively.
In an exclusive interview with Iran press, a young man said that today (Sha'ban 15th which marks the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi) is being celebrated all over the world, and in this regard, ceremonies have been held in different areas of Kashmir.
