Iran PressIran News: Fada-Hossein Maleki, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said ISIS or any other group may carry out the recent bombing of a mosque in northern Afghanistan, but the Taliban are responsible for the country's security as they have taken control of Afghanistan.

Explosion at a mosque at the time of Friday prayers in Kunduz on Friday killed at least 72 people and left more than 140 injured.

Fada-Hossein Maleki noted: "Many crimes took place during the US presence in Afghanistan for the last 20 years and by their withdrawal, they left Afghan people on their own and there is a possibility of civil war."

He also said that despite promises to form a comprehensive government, the Taliban had not achieved anything positive, and many groups, especially ethnic groups in Afghanistan, had been marginalized.

Maleki added that the country's elites who were experienced in governing were not employed to run the country.

Iranian MP stressed that the Taliban would succeed when they form a comprehensive and inclusive government to restore stability and security.

The Friday afternoon bombing, claimed by the ISIS terrorist group in Afghanistan who call them the "Islamic State in Khorasan (ISIS-K)", left more than 210 killed and injured.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the Kunduz mosque blast and it was the third major bombing by ISIS-K since former President Ashraf Ghani fled and the Taliban took control on August 15.
