Hundreds of activists from Italy's tourism and travel agencies rallied in Piazza del Popolo in central Rome to protest the continuing tourism crisis and livelihood problems.

Since the COVID outbreak, the Italian government has cut off tourist connections to all parts of the world and only released tourism activities inside Europe this spring.

Tourist connections between Italy outside the green continent are still banned, and there are many restrictions on issuing Italian visas to non-Europeans.

Italy's tourism sector, which accounted for nearly 13 percent of the country's gross domestic product before the COVID crisis, has lost tens of billions of euros in 2020.

The interviewee is one of the directors of travel and tourism agencies in Italy.
