An Israeli airstrike targeted a site near Latakia and Tartus along Syria's Mediterranean coast on Tuesday night, killing a civilian and injuring two others.

Iran Press/Middle East: Syrian air defenses intercepted and destroyed missiles launched by Israel targeting the coastal city of Latakia and the Masyaf area in the Hama countryside.

The strike targeted a "civilian plastic warehouse," Syrian state news agency SANA reported early Wednesday citing a military source.

Initial reports and video from the scene indicated that a large fire had broken out in the area.

Pictures published by SANA showed a largely destroyed structure on fire.

Israel's military did not immediately comment on the latest strike.

Israel routinely carries out raids in Syria.
