The death toll from the coronavirus in Africa has risen 40 percent in the past month.

Iran Press/Africa: The World Health Organization (WHO) office in Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of the Congo, warned of a 40 percent increase in deaths from coronavirus disease in Africa, France 24 reported on Saturday. 

In the last 28 days, 22,300 deaths have been reported from the Covid-19 in Africa.

The death toll from the Covid-19 disease in Africa has risen to 16,000.

As the African continent continues to await access to the coronavirus vaccine, the World Health Organization predicts that the number of deaths from the virus in Africa will reach 100,000 in the coming days.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Africa, more than 3.715 million people have been infected with the Coronavirus since the outbreak began.

The first case of coronavirus in Africa was identified on February 14, 2020.

The center also announced the death toll from the infection on Friday, 97,299 people.

More than 3.256 million people infected with coronavirus in Africa have recovered so far. 219
