The European Commission has finally approved the vaccine, a joint product of the American company Pfizer and the German company Biontech, for use in EU countries.

The European Pharmacopoeia had previously confirmed the Pfizer-Biontec vaccine, which was finally approved by the European Commission. Distribution of the vaccine to EU member states is likely to begin next Sunday.
