Tabriz (IP): A group of people in Tabriz, the capital of East Azarbaijan Province, northwestern Iran, gathered in front of the Turkish Consulate in response to the Turkish President's separatist remarks.

Iran Press/Iran news: According to Iran Press News Agency, Tabriz demonstrators gathered in front of the Turkish Consulate in Tabriz on Saturday, emphasizing Iran's territorial integrity, Azarbaijan's leadership in defending the country, and national identity rejecting the statements about ethnic separatism.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan travelled to the Azerbaijan Republic on Thursday to participate in a military parade ceremony held on the occasion of the liberation of the Armenian-occupied zones.

At the ceremony, which was also attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Erdogan recited a couplet of a separatist poem about the Aras River on the Iranian-Azerbaijani border.

On Friday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Turkish ambassador to Tehran and announced the Islamic Republic's strong protest against Erdogan's separatist remarks, calling for an immediate response from the Turkish government.
