During his weekly press conference in Islamabad on Friday, Shafqat Ali Khan, the spokesman for the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, referred to the recent visit of the Iranian president to Pakistan and stated that Iran and Pakistan share strong relations in trade, culture, and border interactions, which reflect the brotherhood between the two countries.

In response to the recent telephone consultations between the country’s foreign minister and his American counterpart, as well as the simultaneous discussions between Tehran and Islamabad during Pezeshkian’s visit, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman stated: “Iran is our important neighbor and is recognized as a vital factor for lasting peace and stability in the region.”

Shafqat Ali Khan also addressed the escalation of aggression by the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza, emphasizing that Pakistan’s position on Israel is principled and clear: Islamabad will never recognize Israel.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian visited Pakistan from August 2 to 4 and met with the country’s officials. The visit was at the invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif. This was the fifth official meeting between the heads of the two countries in the past year and came just two months after the joint visit of the Pakistani Prime Minister and Army Chief to Tehran.
