What they're saying:

During a meeting on Monday, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani emphasized the unity of Iran and Iraq, declaring that both countries “are in the same trench.”

He condemned Israel’s attacks as “criminal and unacceptable” and praised Iran’s measured military response.

Al-Sudani confirmed that Iraq protested Israeli airspace violations and elevated the issue to international platforms.

A day earlier, Ammar Hakim, leader of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement, hosted the Iranian delegation in Baghdad and applauded Iran’s popular unity behind its leadership while urging the formation of joint parliamentary committees to advance shared regional priorities.

In a third meeting, Speaker of Iraq’s Council of Representatives Mahmoud al-Mashhadani praised Iran for its perceived victory in the recent 12-day conflict with Israel.

He noted that Iranian civilians continued life undeterred, stating that Iraq would stand firmly by Iran in the face of any future aggression.
