France, Britain, and Germany have urged Iran to return to nuclear negotiations, warning that failure to act by the end of summer could result in the reimposition of U.N. sanctions.

The big picture:

The foreign ministers of France, Britain, and Germany so-called E3, along with the European Union's foreign policy chief, held their first call with Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi since Israel and the United States carried out air strikes in mid-June on Iran's nuclear program.

What they are saying:

“The ministers called on Iran to resume diplomatic efforts immediately to reach a verifiable and lasting deal,” a French diplomatic source told reporters after the call.
